2. Correcting facts

2.1 What counts as a fact: business name, DBA, address, phone, website, hours, services, service area, license number and status, Sunbiz status and dates, insurance on file, workers' comp status, years in Florida, and website audit findings.

2.2 How to request: use "Request a correction" on the profile, or email [CORRECTIONS EMAIL] (until a domain mailbox exists: richard@richardstephens.net) with the profile link, the fact, the correct information and a source (for example, a license record link, Sunbiz filing, or certificate).

2.3 Timing: we re-check within 1 business day. If the source confirms the correction, we update the profile and recompute scores. If the fact feeds a numbered ranking, we may temporarily remove the business from the numbered list until resolved, with no public negative statement.

2.4 Our own corrections: we update facts automatically when public records change and log every change with a date.

3. Disputes

3.1 Scope. Disputes cover facts we believe are correct and you believe are wrong. Scores and rankings are our opinions under our published method; we will check the facts that feed them, but we do not change a score because a business disagrees with the method.

3.2 Process. Verified owner submits the dispute with evidence. We acknowledge within 1 business day, investigate (including contacting the source agency where helpful), and give a written decision within 10 business days. While a material-fact dispute is open, the business is not shown in the numbered Top 10 and is not shown as disputed in public.

3.3 Appeal. You may appeal once to [LEGAL EMAIL] within 30 days. Richard Stephens or a designated reviewer not involved in the first decision decides within 10 business days.

3.4 Legal demands. Send to [LEGAL EMAIL] and [ADDRESS]. We will respond through counsel where appropriate.

4. Unlisting ("unlist, don't delete")

4.1 Who can ask. Only a verified owner or authorized officer of the business, verified by email on the business domain, a code to the phone on the website or license record, or documents.

4.2 What we do within 5 business days:

  1. Remove the profile from all public pages, rankings, match results, search and sitemaps. The profile URL returns "410 Gone".
  2. Add the business to a do-not-list so it is not re-created from public data and receives no outreach.
  3. Hide verified reviews and keep them privately.
  4. Confirm completion by email.

4.3 What we keep: anonymous aggregate counts (for example, "41 plumbing companies checked in Tampa"), the internal record of the request and verification for legal proof, and minimal identifiers needed to honor the do-not-list.

4.4 Transparency: each ranking page shows how many businesses in that category asked not to be listed. The methodology page explains why.

4.5 Effect of unlisting: while unlisted, the business cannot advertise, buy a membership, receive quote requests, receive reviews, or appear in matches. Active paid plans are canceled at the end of the current period.

4.6 Relisting: the business may ask to relist 6 months after the unlist date. On relisting, the profile is rebuilt from current data, and hidden reviews return.

4.7 Exceptions: a court order or valid legal requirement may lead to different action. We may refuse to unlist where the request is not from a verified owner.

5. Removal requests from individuals

If you are a person (not a business) named in public records shown on a profile (for example, a license qualifier) and you have a safety concern, email [PRIVACY EMAIL]. We will review promptly and may suppress your name while keeping the business facts.

6. Review reports

Use "Report" on any review. We check it against the Review Guidelines within 5 business days. We do not remove reviews because a business pays or complains.

7. Record keeping and transparency

We publish quarterly counts of corrections, disputes, unlists and review removals at /trust.

Attorney review notes: confirm the 410 approach, the 6-month relist lock under FDUTPA fairness standards, and handling of legal demands.
